The decision regarding the recipients of the fall 2025 grants has been finalized. A total of 107 applications were received. The grants were awarded to Marjatta Holma, Tuomo Rosenlund, Soili Talja, and Antti Tanttu. The decision regarding the recipients of the fall 2024 grants has been finalized. A total of 97 applications were received. The grants were awarded to Jukka Korkeila, Riikka Lenkkeri, Johanna Saikkonen, and Sauli Tvaltvadze. 10.2.2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The art of Kimmo Kaivanto (1932\u20132012) and Akseli Gallen-Kallela (1865\u20131931) will be shown in the Gallen-Kallela Museum’s Rinnastuksia (Juxtapositions) exhibition from February 10 to May 26, 2024. In the exhibition in Tarvasp\u00e4\u00e4, the art of Kaivanto and Gallen-Kallela is examined in an essay-like manner: the relationship with nature, thematic transitions from one medium to another and exciting experiments with new forms and materials. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Kimmo Kaivanto Foundation. Kimmo Sarje (PhD) is the curator of the exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kimmo Kaivanto’s art works participate in the Horisontti (Horizon) group exhibition at the Lapua Art Museum. The exhibition is curated by the Kimmo Kaivanto Foundation board member Veikko Halmetoja. Horisontti exhibition is open until May 25, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grants were awarded to: Jenni Ypp\u00e4ril\u00e4, Timo Partanen, Niklas Ingelius, and Sami Funke. 17.9.2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social questioning and political statements became one of the main themes in Kimmo Kaivanto\u2019s art in the late 1960s. The selection of these socially influential works will be exhibited in Kimmo Pyykk\u00f6 Art Museum from 17th September 2022 to 8th January 2023. A new monograph will be published also in September 2022 by Kimmo Kaivanto Foundation and Parvs Publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.4.2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kimmo Kaivanto’s painting Kun meri kuolee II<\/em>, 1973, is on display at the Ars22 exhibition in Kiasma. For the first time, the key works from past decades are selected for the Ars exhibition. The iconic artworks provide a historical background for current topics such as ecological and social thinking. The exhibition is open until October 16, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

31.12.2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision of awarded grants for fall 2021 has been made. Total amount of received applications is 63. All applicants have been informed of the decision. Grants are awarded to Taija Goldblatt, Lilli Haapala, Silvia Hosseini, Tuuli Malla & River Dialogues-group and Juha Valkeap\u00e4\u00e4 & Water Concert-group. The exhibition Blue Planet co-organized by Kimmo Kaivanto Foundation at the Art and Museum Centre Sinkka is now open with no pre-booking required. The number of visitors may be limited if necessary to ensure a safe visit for everyone. For latest information see  Sinkka website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.2.2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new exhibition Blue planet will stay closed due to the covid-19 situation until further notice. The exhibition catalog can be read here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kimmo Kaivanto Foundation is co-organizing a new exhibition opening in The Kerava Art Museum 3.2.2021. The exhibition Blue Planet is curated by the Kimmo Kaivanto Foundation board member Veikko Halmetoja.
